Children and adolescents account for 1 in 9 of reported COVID-19 infections, according to new analysis released ahead of World Children’s Day

• For the first time, Ukrainian stars have united against domestic violence and starred in a video for the international campaign "16 days of activism against gender-based violence."

• The New Scars project collected real stories of Ukrainian women, and their physical and mental wounds that cannot not heal. Through various art formats, viewers will be able to hear these stories on the stage of the theater, on television, as well as co-create their own theatrical performance in an interactive game format with multiple endings. The project is part of the global campaign 16 Days of Activism Against Gender-Based Violence, that takes place annually from 25 November, the International Day for the Elimination of Violence against Women, till 10 December, Human Rights Day.

• The Humanitarian Coordinator in Ukraine Ms. Osnat Lubrani, together with the Ministry for Reintegration of the Temporarily Occupied Territories, launched today the 2021 Humanitarian Response Plan in a bid to meet the needs of 1.9 million conflict-affected people in eastern Ukraine. The Plan seeks US$168 million to provide humanitarian aid and protection to those most vulnerable in 2021.

• The UNDP-supported research identified challenges and provided recommendations on how to improve the situation with women’s and girls' rights during the COVID-19 pandemic.

• UNDP supported a survey on how Ukrainians perceived the lockdown measures introduced by the Government in Ukraine in spring 2020 because of the COVID-19 pandemic
