UN Secretary-General António Guterres meets with H.E. Mr. Denys Shmyhal, Prime Minister of Ukraine

The Secretary-General met today with H.E. Mr. Denys Shmyhal, Prime Minister of Ukraine, on the sidelines of the Fourth International Conference оn Financing for Development.

The Secretary-General and the Prime Minister discussed the war’s continuing impact on civilians. The Secretary-General reiterated the commitment of the United Nations to support the Government of Ukraine’s efforts in addressing humanitarian, recovery and reconstruction needs.
The Secretary-General underlined the importance of achieving a full, immediate and unconditional ceasefire in Ukraine as a first step towards a just, comprehensive and sustainable peace, one that fully upholds the UN Charter, international law and General Assembly resolutions.
