(re)connection UA 2023/24 - Open call for projects in the field of culture

MOCA NGO, supported by UNESCO and the Ukrainian Emergency Art Fund (UEAF), is set to provide both organizational and financial support to independent cultural institutions. This initiative aims to ensure the ongoing continuity and growth of artistic projects during the ongoing war. Organizations keen on participating in the open call are invited to submit their entries via an online application form by 23:59  EET on November 26. The selected projects will be announced on MOCA NGO's Facebook account on December 8.



We invite not-for-profit organisations, charities, and registered LLCs in Ukraine to apply, especially those with a proven track record of successful cultural projects. Applicants should possess a visionary artistic direction and an unwavering dedication to realising tangible results. Eligible projects under the (re)connection UA 2023/24 programme can be either offline or online, running from December 8, 2023 to April 30, 2024, within Ukraine. These initiatives should underscore the following key priorities:

• Foster the reconnection between artists and global audiences, amplifying the voices of Ukraine;
• Illuminate the critical significance of artists as champions for preserving Ukraine's cultural diversity and identity;
• Acknowledge the healing power of culture and art in addressing collective trauma, while introducing innovative strategies for the memory culture;
• Strengthen communities by promoting unity, resilience, and adaptability among institutions, communities, and artists during the time of war;
• Shape future vision(s) through the avenues of culture and art;
• Investigate and engage in dialogues about the emerging social contract in Ukraine, using cultural practices;
• Explore and conceptualise decolonization processes within Ukraine's cultural landscape.
