HUMANITARIAN COORDINATOR FOR UKRAINE MATTHIAS SCHMALE EXPRESSES SHOCK AT TODAY’S ATTACK IN KHARKIV CITY

I am shocked to learn from colleagues in Kharkiv of attacks by the Russian Armed Forces, which have killed and injured civilians, including children, in residential areas of the city this afternoon.

This latest attack comes as people across Ukraine have lived through a week of attacks resulting in death and destruction.

Civilians and civilian infrastructure must be protected in accordance with international humanitarian law.
